Workshop - Building a Successful Grant Proposal
In today’s contemporary music scene, talent alone is not always enough: knowing how to build the right network—and above all, how to secure funding—is often what makes the difference. La Case à Chocs in Neuchâtel understands this well and is offering, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, a key training session entitled: “Workshop – Building a Successful Grant Proposal”
Following the success of the October session, the Neuchâtel venue has decided to offer the workshop again, allowing as many artists and project leaders as possible to professionalize their approach.
Why take part in this workshop?
Putting together a grant or sponsorship application is often seen as an administrative obstacle course. Yet this is the very step that can turn an idea into a tour, an album, or a professional music video.
The aim of this day-long training is to demystify the process and provide practical tools to help participants convince public institutions (cities, cantons) and private foundations.
The day’s program
The training takes place at L’Interlope (the bar-restaurant located above the main hall of the venue) and is structured around key strategic points:
- Mapping : funding opportunities Presentation of the various institutions and foundations active in Switzerland.
- Methodology : How to structure your application so that it is clear, compelling, and professional.
- The bottom line : Developing a coherent financing plan and provisional budget.
- Personalized feedback : Participants are invited to bring draft versions of their own applications (on a USB drive) for live review and feedback from the speakers.
Expert speakers
To guide participants, the venue has invited professionals who understand both sides of the process:
- Matthieu Vouga : Administrator of La Case à Chocs and expert for contemporary music with the City of Neuchâtel. His perspective is invaluable, as he knows exactly what funding committees are looking for.
